Most popular names of 2013

I just read the list of most popular names for 2013 and I am at shock with some of them.

Imogen is the most popular girl's name! Really? I don't get it. And Finn and Declan for boys? And what the heck is Django?

What's wrong with good old classic names like Tom, Alex, Peter, Nick, Anthony, Zack?

I don't undersand the trends... I apologize, I don't want to offend anybody in this board who is choosing these names for their lo's.

PS. I do like Penelope, Charlotte, Eleanor and Amelia though...

This enrages me. Eleanor was not even in the top 300 when I named her.

This is where I have to remind myself that names are often regional.
I am so annoyed.

Yeah those are names with the most views on the site so I don't really know if that's a good indicator of how many people are actually giving their kids those names.

I think this list is misleading because it is based on "most-viewed" names(according to nameberry), not names that people actually picked and named their kids. Some are definitely surprising! But I'd be more likely to look up "django" out of curiosity, not really because I'd name my kid that.

@traceyt07 and others that are concerned, don't worry. This is not a list of most popular names. Go to baby center and you can find it there. Also I find it weird that you are offended by the name Declan. Have you never heard of it? It's a beautiful old Irish ne that means "full of goodness". Nothing weird about it. Also happens to be my favorite nephew's name.

I have loved the name Cora since Titanic came out. It was the name of the little girl who was dancing with Leo in the lower deck bar scene and for some reason it always stuck with me. It seems like the names I love always seem to move up in the trends right as they become relevant to my lyfe. Ughhhh.
