Babies on the Brain

How can I say no to this?

I had lunch with Allie. She is on "yellow" for talking. She said "please don't be upset. I am on yellow right now. I am doing my personal best to correct my behavior."

Tonight is skate night. Yesterday, She came home on yellow for touching. The deal was she had to come home on green to earn the privilege to go. I can't say no if she is doing her "personal best!"

  • I realize that "how can I say no to this?" was a rhetorical question, but I just have to chime in.

You gave her very clear expectations: Green = skating party. Yellow (or any other color) = no skating party.

She needs to know that when you say something, you mean it. Otherwise next time she won't take you seriously. I'm pretty sure you already know this, but because she's saying all of the right things (and probably being super cute when saying them), she's making it hard for you to stick to your guns!

Um, thanks for the unsolicited parenting advice.

    That's ridiculously cute.

Also. Start saving for law school.
We have been saying since she was two she will be an attorney. She can lawyer her ass into anything.

  • Hope I didn't offend you. That was not at all my intention!
Either way, I'm glad she came home on green and you didn't have to say no. :)
