ID twins and teeth

I swear I read that if you have ID twins, their teeth come in nearly the exact same time and in the same order.

We had our didi girls tested and it came back 99.9% identical.

But, their teeth have not been coming in the same order. The bottom two both came within a few days of each other BUT opposite sides came first. Also, now Halle is cutting 5 teeth while Isla is only cutting 2 and it doesn't appear or feel like any others are going to pop up anytime soon.

Can someone explain? Teeth aren't part of the "environmental" differences.

Re: ID twins and teeth

  • Mine vary. They range from days to a month or two in difference when they get their teeth. Sometimes they trade who goes first.
  • Us too...  we are Mo/Di and one of my guys got his two bottom teeth a couple of weeks before his brother and is now cutting his top teeth and no sign of the top in the other.  They do seem to be coming in the same order though just not at the same time.

  • My guys are getting their teeth in the same order, but L has been about two weeks ahead of cutting each tooth. Their eyes are also changing from blue to brown, and L also seems just slightly "ahead" on that too...odd.

  • Good question. I've wondered about this too and I don't know the answer. My girls' teeth came in around the same time and in the same order, and I assumed that was a norm with ID twins.

  • Mine have #8 coming in. The bottom middle 2 and top 4 all came in the same order. One would get them first and the other wasn't far behind. They had different ones on the bottom come in after the middles... one had the left come in first and the other had the right. Now the both have the opposite one coming. They have been drooling and chewing on fingers like crazy so I assume the molars won't be far behind. I truly think mine were Mo/di (we tested to make sure and they are definitely ID) even though the doctor said di/di and was 100% sure they aren't ID.
