just depends on your circumstances and your dr. My dr typically does the first one at 10 weeks.
This time they did one 2 weeks ago to date the pregnancy (and it was my yearly exam), they'll do one tomorrow to make sure all is well. Then I'll have one at 10 weeks.
I think it varies based on any past medical history you have and/or your Dr. I'm getting my first one on Friday, which puts me a little into my 7th week. I think the usual range is anywhere from around 8 weeks to 12.?
Most do the first u/s somewhere between 7-10 weeks, unless there is reason to do it earlier. And, even then, I don't think they'll do one earlier than 5.5 weeks.
With DD#1, I had it at 8w4d and with this one, I'm having it at 7w2d.
Okay, here is another totally newbie question...doctor's calculate your progress by the date of your last period, not by when you ovulated/actually conceived, right? Thanks for your help (you are much nicer then GP!)
First pregnancy: 10 and a half weeks (discovered a missed m/c)
Second pregnancy: 6 weeks. And I have had one at 7 and 8 weeks too (I am with an RE and expecting twins). My next u/s is at 12 weeks I believe.
I would never go to 20 weeks without an u/s. After discovering a m/c in my first pregnancy and twins with my second, I definitely see the importance of the early u/s.
Re: When do you get the first ultrasound?
It will depend on your doctor.
For me: With #1- 10 weeks, #2- 7 weeks

Lol! No, but hopefully this summer. I'm a quite a planner by nature and am just trying to wrap my head around things.
Ah, I see
Yup, they date off lmp, even if you have charts from what I hear. The exception to this is if they do an early u/s for dating purposes.
