Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

A Child's Palate

I find that a child's palate is much more accepting of an array of foods than what most people generally assume.  For instance, today, our 16 month old ate a mild brie for the first time and loved it and for dinner, we made a coconut chicken curry with jasmine rice and she gobbled it up.  She also loves broccoli, beets, peas, anything pork related, tilapia, mildly spicy foods, and many other things that other kids wouldn't even try as teenagers, let alone as a toddler.  I think it's wonderful when young kids have a diverse palate of foods they will eat, and I'm so thankful that our DD has been receptive to our offerings.  We get so excited every time she tries something new and enjoys it :)

What kind of foods do your kids eat that others are often surprised by?
