practical boots

What kind of boots did you get for your LO for fall/winter? Rain? Snow? Fashion? Anyone find boots that tick more than one box?

Its was super rainy last weekend so we skipped the pumpkin patch. Hopefully it will be dry enough this weekend to go.

Anyway I started to think I'd get dd a pair of rain boot ... but so far
I've been unable to find them in her size (4). But not sure if they'll get used enough to justify buying them.

But with winter coming I got a cheap snow suit - pants and jacket. Super cheap - $6 new after sales, coupons, etc. So I was thinking of getting her boots she could wear in the snow too. She'll wear the jacket all winter but again I'm not sure I can justify buying snow boots that she may only wear 1-2 times.

I'm in southern PA / MD so the weather is pretty hit or miss. Some winters we only get 1-2 small snows and other winters we get tons.

I'd like to get her a pair of fashion boots for the fall ... but she really doesn't need 3 pairs of boot! Lol!

At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid.  Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth.  If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP.  My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!

Re: practical boots

  • I'm having a really hard timing finding tiny waterproof boots. She wears a size 2 right now and she runs EVERYWHERE.
    I don't want to spend $40+ on a pair!

  • I am a fan of bogs and I think Stonz are supposed to be good, too. They are a little pricy though. I can't decide if we should get any since it rarely snows here. We are going to Chicago/Indiana maybe for a month because my Dad's not cancer condition is acting a lot like cancer. So, we would want them for that.

Then and now. How did my boy get so big?

  • We just got a pair of cute boots (cheapo ugg type boots from Target). I wanted snow boots since we live in the Midwest and last year got 4 or 5 big snows. But the soles on them are SO thick I thought she'd never be able to walk between the snow and the huge boots. I figure for the limited amount of time she'll be int he snow it will probably be fine. It's not like she's going to play in the snow for hours at a time (probably not even half an hour for that matter, mama isn't a huge fan of cold).

  • we have iplay rain boots. If we plan a trip north I'll get Kamik snow boots. I tried to skip them last year and really regretted it. cold feet ruin snow fun pretty fast.
  • I got DD snow boots from Zulily (I love that site!!) They have a ton of boots for decent price no matter what type you are looking for or what size your LO is wearing. I paid $14.99 for her snow boots. I went with that because in southwest PA we normally have snow on and off most of the winter or its rainy and crappy so figure they can always double as rain boots.
