Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Stupid FTM question

I am a FTM and a stay at home mom. I like to get my morning workout done when my little one is taking her morning nap(usually her longest one of the day) She is 4 months. I try to do my workout dvd for an hour(if she lets me:) Anyways, I am so sweaty after but I don't know what to do with her when I am by myself and want to take a shower.....I wait until my husband comes home from work. So what can I do...My bathroom is small so I cant put her in there with me...Do I put her in her crib in her room???(which is right next to our bathroom)

Re: Stupid FTM question

  • I put my son in his bouncy chair and bring him into the bathroom with me.  But at our first house, the bathroom was very small.  I would put our first son in his crib with a toy and bring the monitor in the bathroom with me.so I could shower.

  • Put her somewhere safe that she can't wiggle out of and where you can hear her. I would often put the bouncy seat outside of the bathroom door where they could see me and I could see them. Or in a bimbo on the floor of the bathroom. If you have a full size shower you could also put the baby tub on one side of the shower and let her splash in the water while you shower.
  • We put ours in the bouncer right outside the door, he's strapped in so he can't get into any nonsense while we're doing it.
  • Until she was a year old if DD was sleeping in her crib I left her in there, if not I put her in a PNP in our bedroom.

  • You put them anyplace safe and you take your shower.  No baby will die from crying for a few minutes when mom is doing something to keep mom healthy/clean/fed, etc.

  • I use the baby sitter balance bouncy chair it's small enough to fit in a small bathroom.

  • I put her in her bouncy seat in the bathroom. It's small and she cant get out of it when I strap her in. She will cry sometime but I talk to her and peek my head out at her every couple minutes to assure her that I'm still there.

  • I'd either put on the mobile or leave her in her crib if she's happy, or put her in a bouncer (thats what I did). We had an open bathroom/bedroom situation though so sometimes i'd put her on a play mat on the carpet and she was still in front of me.

She can't move really or go anywhere so really you can put her down in any sort of contraption that you can either monitor or see and she'll be fine

  • Like PP said...as long as LO is somewhere safe and secure a 5 minute shower won't hurt. I am a FTM as well! :)  I workout (when I can) in the mornings too. If he is having a no nap day I opt to go on a walk/jog with the jogging stroller *especially now that its cooling down). By the time we return he is fast asleep. I keep him in his car seat for my shower time so I know he is safe for my shower time. I am super fast in the shower now...I can shave, wash, shampoo and condition in less than 12 minutes!!
