TTC after 35

No idea where I belong - can i stay here?

I'm 38 and my husband and I were TTC # 2 up until a few months ago when he was diagnosed with cancer.  We froze sperm before beginning treatments and will look into IVF once he is done.  Thankfully he is responding well to treatments and the doctors expect him to be in full remission at the end of his chemo treatments.   In the meantime, even though we have been busy with treatments and everything else I still haven't given up my hope of having another baby.  I had just started frequenting this board before his diagnosis so can I just stay here? :-)

Re: No idea where I belong - can i stay here?

  • Welcome!  Yes you can stay here!  We welcome any woman over 35 who is TTC.  Just be sensitive posting about your little one.  Many ladies on here have been through recent miscarriages and/or going through fertility treatments.  But tickers don't bother us. We have many women on here trying for #1, #2 #3 etc...

I am so sorry about your husbands cancer.  But that is so great he is responding to treatments.

    Welcome and good luck!

  • I was in your place last year, my husband was diagnosed with cancer as well and we were ttc #3 at the time so we did the same thing as you and did the banking he finished his last treatment in March and did start meeting with fertility dr's (long story :)  ) we are now trying to conceive on our own and praying for a miracle. I hope your husband is doing well.
  • Thank you all.  Just had a treatment last week and got great news from the doc - only one more treatment and he's done!

Melc1010 - did you have his sperm tested before traying naturally?  His oncologist told us that we should wait two years before trying naturally but some one else told me that they had their husband's sperm tested and were cleared to try.  TIA!
