Re: *****2nd tri check in 10/15******

  • I posted separately but am clearly an AW today about this lol... Today is 24 weeks!  Yay!!!!  I had a good MFM appointment and growth scan today.  Babies are 1 pound 6 oz each (difference of 14 grams between them which is 2% discordance).  Fluid is a little more than last time but is equal between the babies which is important in mono/di twins.

I am starting to physically feel the weight of being pregnant with twins this week.  I'm exhausted (haven't slept more than 3 hours straight the whole pregnancy so far and now it's down to 1 1/2-2 hour spurts), my belly feels heavy and tons of pressure, and I'm a big baby about all of this! Hard to catch my breath already which makes me REALLY nervous for the next few weeks as I get bigger, and how i'm going to handle it.

The cardiologist cleared me for heart issues last week due to palpitations, dizziness etc... and diagnosed me with vasovegal response, so I'm still dealing with symptoms for that which is frustrating.  I just want to feel good and enjoy the remaining 12 weeks i have left. :)

QOTW:  My all time favorite book is called "How Really Great to Walk This Way".  I remember reading it over and over again when I was younger.  I lost my copy so I ordered a copy from amazon that had an old library selling it (it's from the 70's) so at least I have one to read to the boys when they are here!

Any appointments or other updates?  A/S is next Tuesday so I just have to make it through that for most of the giving in on Team Green temptation to pass :-)

  • Can I join? So excited to have made it this far (14w4d today!)

I am due April 11 with twins. At the ultrasound yesterday the tech predicted G/G, but she was really iffy on baby B and I'm leaning toward G/B. We met with our new MFM and liked her so much we are transfering our care exclusively to her. Our next appt will be the A/S at 18 weeks.

QOTD: One of my favorites is a pop-up book called the Wide Mouthed Frog. I also love the Mercer Mayer books because my dad used to read those to me.

  • Hi All,
I'm 23w4d and still feeling pretty good...just feeling like baby's been going through a major growth spurt.  I can feel my skin stretching like crazy lately.  I went to a new prenatal yoga class today where the instructor had us go upside down against the wall and LO decided it was fun and kicked me like crazy!

I've got my 24 week/V-day appt. at OB on Friday!

QOTD:  I can't wait to read "Corduroy", "Harry the Dirty Dog" and "Goodnight Moon".  Those were my favorites as a kid so my mother has already bought copies for LO.  I tried to read "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?" to my tummy last week and felt like a complete idiot for making all those silly sounds to myself!  I hope it is easier once LO gets here!

  • hello,

We had our cardio echo today and she is doing ok. It took 1.5 hours but at least we got a great result. I am 26 weeks. I am feeling so so.

I did not grow up here, so to books read to me were different. I grew up in Eastern Europe. I love Pipi longstockings. I think she is fearless and I wanted to be more like her. I want to pass this on to my girls.

    Best of luck to all.

  • 23w6d :)  No appts this week but I have two next week and many more scheduled already.  I'm feeling good - sometimes I've been getting leg cramps at night and some insomnia.   But all I care about is that the babies are doing well - I'm pretty sure they are both breech right now since I am only feeling kicking down low.

QOTW:  I can't wait to read books to the babies - I like the Dr. Seuss books :)

I feel all kinds of pulls and aches so was extra nervous about my apt but I guess these are growing pains. Qotd: my fave was Hanzel and Gretel! But now that I read it, that book is scary! So I will keep that one to myself lol!

  • Hi everyone, I'm 26 weeks today and generally feeling pretty good- some back pain especially in the morning and lots of heartburn! I had an OB appointment last week and gained a ton of weight last month so I went from being behind on weight gain to right on track. Hopefully I don't gain that much each month- yikes!

  • V day is tomorrow! I am currently on hospital bed rest while my girls are monitored for absent cord flow. I won't explain the saga again here, since I already posted separately about it. I did have another ultrasound today which showed no changes from yesterday, but the awesome part was that baby A had the hiccups and we could see them. I guess hiccups count as practice breathing, which is a very good sign since we are likely to be delivering early. Baby B had a few jerky movement that could have been hiccups, but not enough yet to really consider practice breathing. We are supposed to be meeting with the MFM, OB, neonatologist, and getting another ultrasound...all tomorrow morning. It will be a big day!

QOTW: As a kid I loved the Roald Dahl books, so I am looking forward to sharing those! I also love If You Give A Mouse A Cookie, Blueberries For Sal, Goodnight Moon, and all The Little Golden Books. It is so hard to pick favorite books, I just love books in general and have ever since I was little!

  • I'm 19w3 days today.  On Monday, we found out we're having a girl!  We're both really excited and DH is already super protective :-)  We also found out I have placenta previa.  I know it still has plenty of time to move, but I am pretty nervous about it.
I have a a few appointments coming up.  We go back for a follow up a/s on Monday because LO wouldn't get in the right position for them to see her whole spine and they need to check one of her hands.  I also have my monthly OB appointment that day and finally get to get some info on the PP.  Then at the beginning of November, I have a fetal echo appointment.  Lots going on!

One of my favorite books as a kid was Corduroy and I can't wait to read it to LO.  I still have the same copy I read as a kid, which is kind of fun.  My dad read me another book, and neither of us can remember the title, but it was about a woman who found a monster's hairy toe.  The monster then looks for his toe and my dad would always make a scary monster voice when he said "Who has got my hairy toe?"  It sounds weird and creepy haha but I have some great memories with that book.  I hope I can find it somewhere!

  • Hi, can I join? My EDD is April 11. I'm pregnant with a singleton.

Today I am 14 weeks 5 days. The last couple of days I started experiencing a lot of growing pains in my lower back, abdomen, and hips. I've also started wearing a lot of maternity clothes, which is exciting and scary (I feel like a "real" pregnant lady now!). A couple weeks ago my OB practice notified me out of the blue that they were closing, so I had to scramble to find a new OB. I had my intake appointment there this week, and my first appt with one of their OBs is next week. It's been annoying but I think I will like the new practice better.

QOTW: I don't have any particular favorites, but we are a book-loving family, so I'm sure I will get all the classics. I do remember enjoying Dr. Seuss, Richard Scarry, and Mercer Mayer when I was a bit older. :-)

@diamante1181 - sorry this is so scary for you!!

@lisabugg444 - your old OB sucks...they just close up shop?  Glad you found someone new!

AFM, I'm 15w2d today and feeling fine.  I finally got to hear the heartbeat yesterday with a doppler, so that was exciting.

My favorite book is "When the Moon Shines Brightly on the House".  I have no idea why, but I would read it all.the.time as a kid.  It's already sitting in the will-be nursery.

    Hi All,
I'm 23w4d and still feeling pretty good...just feeling like baby's been going through a major growth spurt.

I hope it is easier once LO gets here!

going upside down against a wall right now sounds like torture to me lol.  good for you for being so active!!!!

i also feel the same way about reading to my belly and haven't done this as of yet.  i may try tomorrow once DH goes to work and see if they like it lol.
Active for the earlier part of the day....tripped and fell again at night!  My poor knee got the worst carpet burn and bruising I've ever experienced!
    Hope your reading went well!

  • Hello fine ladies! I am 17 weeks on the dot! I had a doctors appointment yesterday and got to hear this little munchkins heartbeat. It was very reassuring because lately I haven't felt much in the past 4 weeks. I am also a little concerned because I haven't gained a pound since I found out I was pregnant. QOTW: I would love to read "The Giving Tree" to this little girl. That was my favorite book growing up and I will give anything to this little girl to make her happy!
    **TTC since April 2010**
DH diagnosed with moderate MFI, low everything, me low AMH
3 IUI's and 1 IVF all BFN's, almost gave up hope

  • How far along are you this week? Any appointments or other updates? 21 weeks this week.  Passed my monthly visual test on Wednesday.  No other appointments or anything new.  I feel like I am growing daily though which is excited.

QOTW: What is your favorite children's book that you are excited about sharing with your
LO(s)?  I loved Dr. Seuss books when I was a kid.  I can't wait to read to her any and all books! I already put together the bookshelf.

I spent the night in ER with heavy bleeding, clots, and cramping. Soooo scary. Baby is ok but they think I may have a SCH so Im on strict bedrest. I have a call into my dr to see what the follow up plan is. Making a baby is hard work. With DS1 I also bled a lot. Boo. On a happy note I am officially in the 2nd tri today. WOOT WOOT!
