Was this a dick move on my part?

The girls are having a Halloween party at their DCP.  The girls are in different classes so we have to bring two sets of treats.

I realized this morning that I signed up to bring the same thing for both parties (cookies) because I was the second person to sign up on each sheet.

Should I have left one of the cookie options open and taken something else for one of the parties?

IDK the "rules" about these things.

  • Personally I hate baking cookies so I would have been thankful that someone took them.

I don't see why it would matter. I think you're overthinking it.

  • Team cookies are a PITA, so kudos to you for taking on that task.

  • I don't think that is a big deal at all.  It is much easier to  double a batch of cookies instead of bringing a different treat.  I'm sure there were lots of other treat options for the other moms/dads.
  • No.  Payton and Camden were always in seperate classes.  I would have done the same thing and probably did many times.  It makes it easier for you and I don't see how it would hurt the other parents.

  • I was more thinking of Mack's thread last week about the parent-teacher conferences.  I didn't want to cause anyone to think I was being a jerk by taking the easy items.

  • Oh no.  I'm buying cookies.  Fuck baking them.

I was thinking this too. So much talk of homemade...no, no...

  • We actually aren't allowed to take homemade items to school anymore.  They have to be pre-packaged items.

  • I'm actually pretty anti-homemade anything.  I always look like a dick when I won't participate in work potlucks.  I hesitantly made a donation for a fundraising one last month and grabbed a slice of pie, only to find a long ass fucking hair in it and I almost puked.

  • I missed Mack's thread but I always feel like all the other parents think I'm a jerk because I don't volunteer in the classroom ever.  I'm sorry, but most of the moms don't work and the ones who do, work at the school.  It's easy for them to volunteer because they're right there.  I on the other hand can't just leave work all willy-nilly.
  • Absolutely not! If it were me I would even buy the cookie dough already made and just bake them!!

  • I bake cookies constantly and refuse to share with work or family.  I like to hoard them all.
