Would you?

edited October 2013 in Parenting
Some friends at work decided to observe something called "National no bra day" (I guess for breast cancer awareness)  and actually came to work with no bra on.  We work in the public and I thought this was a little out there.  I say find another way to support breast cancer.  Would any of you ever go to work without a bra?  I'm just curious because I wonder if I am the only one that thinks this is a little much.

Re: Would you?

  • I personally wouldn't. I feel it could be offensive to the women that don't wear bras anymore thanks to the disease.

Plus I'd be tripping all over myself. ;)

  • No, I wouldn't personally go braless to work under any circumstance.

  • I would not, and I find these thing very gimmicky. People are plenty aware of breast cancer in October. Does this raise funds, encourage women to get checked, help someone get a mammogram?

If not, what's the point other than to be provocative?

But if you work in the pubic, maybe it's okay ...

  • I don't do any of the do random crap to raise breast cancer awareness crap. Raise funds, run races, absolutely. Me not wearing a bra does nothing to help.

  • No, no I would not.
  • That's asinine. No, I would never leave my house with no bra.

Also, I work in a high school - you'd all see me in the news!!

  • Nope. No one wants to see my tripping over my mommy boobs. Not sexy :P
  • I ranted to DH about this. I told him it was some stupid FB shit someone made up just to get women to flop their titties around and post pictures. This is insulting to women who have suffered, survived, or succumbed to this disease. Furthermore, I hate all of the FB shares that are out there that have people doing silly shit or making stupid ass statuses.

It does sound like a made up Facebook thing. And no I wouldn't goto work with no bra.

    "

Are you kidding me?  How on earth could a day where girls and women
are encouraged to post and share photos of their braless breasts and to
walk around with their nipples poking through their shirts be
“supportive” for women who are living with or who have died from breast
cancer, or who have managed to ‘complete’ the arduous treatments and
disfiguring surgeries required to put them into remission?

I think the answer is simple.  It is not."

    This.

Plus no one wants to see me braless
