I know how much you all love a good Tdap question, so here's another:
I noticed in the post below someone mentioned feeling sick for days (a week?) after getting her Tdap shot. I'm scheduled to get mine at my 34 week checkup and DH and I are leaving to go out of town for a long weekend the next day. So now I'm curious, did anyone else feel sick for days after? If it's somewhat common maybe I'll run in this week to get the shot and get it out of the way before our vacay.
I had one 2 yrs ago in the hospital after DS2 was born and don't remember feeling sick, but of course there was a lot of other things going on at that time and I was all drugged up on Motrin.
Nope. I got one with DD before leaving the hospital after I had her (2 years ago) and it only made my arm sore for a few days. Got it again a week ago and I feel fine. My arm didn't even hurt this time, which I definitely expected it to.

even just for the sore arm part, I'd prob opt for getting it out of the way sooner if I was you, so you can enjoy the vacay. I think the reaction really depends on the person.
I had a headache, fatigue, and all over achiness the following day. It only lasted a day though. The following site tells you your chances of having side effects.
I'm pretty positive there is not in the tdap vaccine that should make you feel sick. I give them to paitents every day and I've never heard of Someone feeling sick afterwards. But I guess everyone is different...
I got the tdap and flu shot same day so no idea which it was but I was super dizzy all day afterwards. I felt drunk (but not the good kind lol). Other than that I was fine except my arm hurt really bad for about 5 days after

@Ansleyturner - I think that was the flu shot, I had dizziness for awhile after getting my flu shot.
I got the tdap by itself and am getting flu shot in 2 weeks. Tdap made me feel sick for maybe 3 hours, and then made my arm super sore for the next 3 days.
nope, my arm was sore for a couple of days, but that was it. I also didnt have a reaction to the flu shot this year ::fist pump:: I've had a mild one a couple of times, but it is sooooo much better than the flu. working in the middle of 10 hospitals = lots of sick people riding the bus with me.
I just had a sore arm for a few days. I will say if you did have a reaction or got sick feeling you should report it because they like to keep track of adverse reactions just in case.
I got my tdap a little over a week ago. I had a lot of pain in my arm, redness, localized fever at the injection sites, and a huge knot, but other than that I felt fine. I had to get the tdap shot twice in the same arm though. When the nurse went to give my shot the needle broke and shot most of the vaccine all over me. So I had to get another shot. Most of my reaction was at the first shots injection site, so I think it had to do more with the needle breaking.

Sounds like you had a newb for a nurse. I'm sorry that happened, sounds awful and totally preventable.

The shot is trivalent, while the flu mist is quatravalent. The mist also has live virus, so is contraindicated for pg women. The shot should be enough, hopefully they predicted the strains right.

I wasn't necessarily sick but I felt very tired and run down all weekend long. I think it was from the flu shot though, not the tdap
