pushes to pee

My DS has been peeing on the potty before going in the tubby. We praise him and he is happy to try to go. The only thing is, he wants to keep peeing, and it looks like he is pushing to do it. Is this common? I often say, are you all done, or it looks like your done. I dont want to discourage him but I dont know if its a bad habit to let him keep trying to push going. Thoughts?

I wouldn't worry about it. He's at the age where it's fun so he wants it to last as long as possible.

He's also learning about what he can and can't make his body do.

Unless he's in pain I'd just ignore it.

My DD has started doing this 3 months after she potty trained.  I don't think it's a big deal, just part of learning to control it.

Could be he's trying to poop after he's done peeing.  Nothing to worry about in my book.

He hasn't pooped on potty yet and says"I have to go pee" so not sure what he is doing. Probably like pp's said, just experimenting and trying to control.
