Anyone have to pay a fee for vbac

There is one dr. In broward county, dr. Skeete, that comes highly recommended for VBAC. She schedules only 3 a month and the patient has to pay a fee of $1500 extra just to do a vbac with her. If for some reason she isn't my doctor when I go into labor, I get refunded the $1500. Does anyone else's dr have a fee just to ensure they are your dr during delivery?

There was recently a discussion on the ICAN FB page about a doc in FL that comes highly recommended and requires a $1500 fee. There was what seemed like a rational explanation for it although it was a financial hurdle some moms weren't able to swing. That led many people to jump on the conspiracy against VBAC wagon. The fee actually had nothing to do with any of the risks associated with a VBAC. If I can find the explanation I will c&p so that you can be the judge.

I bet that's the same doctor that you read on ican. I'll have to see If I can find it too.

That seems odd.  I wonder if its to cover her extra insurance expenses or something.  I'm curious to read what the rationale behind it is.
