4m old squirmy EBF'er??

My lo is 16 weeks and over the past week has been SOOO squirmy while nursing that it's not enjoyable. It's not even a distracted nursing, it's just lurching, throwing herself back, yanking my nipple over her shoulder, taking 3 sucks then flailing and whining. I take her off and she cries so she's hungry. I burp her and she still squirms when back on the breast! Anyone else having this issue? Im assuming it's related to the developmental leap and whole 4m wakeful/regression stage??

My lo is 6 months and she has been a squirmy bfeeder for a while. She kicks, pushes her feet against the chair, and plays with my clothes/hair/face while eating. As long as she eats I let her.

My 4mo does the I don't want to suckle move and babble behind the nipple and tug and pull moves. Can't take it so I pump during the day and bf him during the night when he's really just feeding half sleep. 1a - 6a then he completely empties them out. Works for me

Well I'll be back to work in 4 weeks and she'll be getting many more bottles so I guess that's my solution. I was hoping its a phase that passes bc my older daughter wasn't always like this or this squirmy! Even for the night feedings she's a little jumpy! It's like wrestling a baby alligator!!

DD is like this as well.  I'm thinking that the milk isn't flowing fast enough for her.  I've started taking Fenugreek to see if it will bump my supply and help satisfy her better.

I use a little white noise to calm LO down. Just enough so she can drink in peace but not so much that she falls asleep. Works like a charm about 80% of the time.

This has only worked for me for 2 days so take it FWIW... I put my hand gently on the side of LO's face and ear and he calms down considerably. Maybe it's the change in what he's hearing that distracts him???

our LO was doing this at 4 or 5 months, in fact he does it on occasion now as well.

What I do is when he gets overly wiggly twisting, pulling, stopping and starting to nurse every few sucks.  I will sit him up and say "if your gonna  play I am not going to let you eat"  I know he doesn't understand but it makes me feel better saying something.  

If he still is crying I let him fuss for a bit then try again.  IF he goes back to wiggling I again pull him off and sit him up.  It takes a few times but they will get the picture that in order to eat you need to lay still. I don't mean stock still, he pushes his feet against the chair, plays with my shirt, rubs my arm.  I am talking about the tugging, twisting, attaching and letting go kinds of things.
