Beta update

So after my so-so u/s Friday, they took betas again (I'm sure they expected a drop since they're so convinced I'm going to miscarry). Just got the results.

Friday the 4th at 5w3d, I was 22,087.

Friday the 11th at 6w3d, I was at 47,385.

So it was a doubling time of 150 hours. I know it slows down once numbers get so high, but is it too slow? It had gone from 95 hour doubling time, to 125 hours, and now to 150. So it's definitely slowing down. But it's still increasing. So what do I make of this??

I think that's pretty normal, though they're really high to begin with.  I've only had experience with lower numbers, so I don't really know.  But after they get above 8k or so the doubling time is usually pretty slow.

I'd think that if they were still going up, even with a so-so ultrasound last week, that it is a good sign. When do they plan on doing another u/s?

Honestly, I don't think you can worry too much with beta numbers.  The only way you will know for sure is another ultrasound.  Will they give you one soon?

A week from tomorrow. I hate waiting!

Ugh, that suuuucks that they are waking you wait so long between u/s!

I think it's so hard to go by numbers. They look good to me. They seem pretty high and going up nicely for something to be wrong? Fingers still crossed!

I think the fact that they went up was a good sign. Hang on to that hope. Your numbers are going up and you have a heartbeat pretty early. I just wish they weren't making you wait so long for another ultrasound!

Your original numbers seem pretty high, so it could just be that it's like you said and they double more slowly the higher they go. FX for good news from your u/s!

Those beta numbers sound great to me. An increase has got to be a good thing, regardless of time. Hopefully your ultrasound next week confirms that everything is progressing well! I'm thinking of you!!

I think it's great that they are going up!  I know they are supposed to slow down at some point so it seems like they may be normal.  I'm sorry you are still in limbo, but rising numbers seems like good news for today.

I think it's great that those numbers keep rising and are as high as they are.  As pp have said, at this point, an ultrasound is really going to be more indicative of success than numbers (if they were dropping, it'd be a different story).  I just wish you didn't have to wait so long for your next ultrasound!  FX for you!
