Our 3 year old son does not have very regular BMs. He has been like this since birth and has actually been on a very low dose of laxatives for over four months now. The pediatrician said it is just how some kids are and that it will certainly delay the potty training process...
Even with the meds he doesn't necessarily go every day, but at least when he does it's soft. It also often comes out a little at a time and takes him a few days to get one real BM out.
If that wasn't enough, he only pees every few hours, sometimes only every 4-5 hours (again he's been like that since birth).
He eats tons of fruit and veg and drinks more water than any kid I've ever seen!
He can be in underwear for 5 hours and not pee! And when he does finally pee, he seems completely surprised!
Has anyone potty trained a kid like this?? I need help!
