Toddlers: 24 Months+

He used his potty chair!

Total fluke too I'm sure. When Mikey woke up from his nap I went to change his diaper like I always do. Usually I catch him a few minutes after he woke up and by then he has already pee'd. Well this time I had happened to walk in as he was waking up and once he saw me peek in I couldn't leave. So when I went to change him I noticed he was going to pee soon (mom's of boys know what I mean Wink). Well instead of quickly changing him I decided to take him quickly to his potty chair. He saw there for a few minutes. We took a look through a magazine and all of a sudden I hear him peeing. I was soooooo excited and of course made a HUGE deal over it. Even though I know it means nothing since he can't tell me he has to go. It was just exciting to actually see my little baby using his potty chair instead of peeing in his diaper. Awwww *sniff* they grow up too fast!

  • It DOES mean something - congratulations!!

  • Wild how excited you get about pee, isn't it?

If you're into this kind of thing check out the book "Early Start Potty Training".

You could be seeing a lot more dry diapers!!

    Congrats to you both!

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
  • Congratulations! That's not a fluke at all. That's how it started with dd, and now she uses the toilet after every nap and several times a day. Ds will learn to tell you in his way when he has to go... if you pay attention, it will happen sooner than you think!
  • i did this with Paige at about 7 months - my DH thought I was crazy.  We sit on the potty every night before bath but NOTHING.  But at least she will sit there and she isn't afraid (we use the toilet) not a chair.

BTW - What did you mean by you "Noticed" he was going to pee....LOL!  I worked in daycare for years!  I KNOW what you mean...lol

  • Great! I would totally be excited too! I get excited about everything my DS does though.
  • Hi Everyone!

I am a mom of two babies under two and we are getting close to the potty training stage. I find it helpful to read what everyone else is going through.

Not sure if you are aware, but there is a great site with gifts for potty trained or about to be potty trained toddlers. Check out www.pantiecake.com!
