Embarassing foot problem

Hi, I need some advice.  I was told that because of the swelling in my feet and legs that I should get those TEDS hose compression stockings. (I got the open toe version)  I wear them every day.  I have 2 pairs and alternate them so I don't wear the same pair twice.  I wash them frequently.  I put on fresh socks every morning and sleep without the hose or socks at night.  Here's my issue.  I noticed the other day that the bottom of my right foot, right in the center, has some very small red, itchy blister-like things.  They aren't annoyingly itchy and it's only on the bottom of my foot, about the size of a quarter total.  It isn't dry and scaly and isn't between my toes at all.  Because I can't get my face down close to my foot at all anymore I had my husband look at them.  He thinks they are "heat blisters", I worry they are athlete's foot.  I do keep my feet clean and in good shape, never walking around barefoot (with the exception of the middle of the night bathroom run), but am thinking that with the TEDS and socks that maybe my feet get warmer than usual.

Anyway, here's my question.  Do any of you know if I am able to put any sort of ointment or anything on the bumps to clear it up?  I don't want to do anything that could affect the babies of course.  I had read on TB on another group (from 2009 or something like that) that someone suggested using the yeast-infection cream, but they weren't pregnant at the time.  Have any of you had this happen?  My regular OB is out starting today on her own maternity leave so while I don't have a problem calling in, I would get a doctor I'm not totally familiar with yet, as I see her in 2 weeks for my next checkup.

Thanks for your input in advance.  I hate being a bother and don't like calling the doctor unless it's super important so wanted to check with you all to see if you've had similar situations and how you were told to deal with it.

Re: Embarassing foot problem

  • Sounds like athletes foot - I had it in college and it was like red blisters on the bottom of my foot and didn't itch. I would go to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist if you are allowed to use Tinactin. The stuff I liked best was the spray - just spray your foot, socks, shoes and it should clear it up in 3 days, and feel better immediately.
