New Here- Intro

Hi Everyone. I am a regular on the Nov. 12 board, but surprise E is going to be a big brother x 2. I can't lie I cried a lot at the ultrasound. I am 8 weeks 1 day pregnant. I am a NP at a local hospital. I love crocheting, cooking and my lovely little dude. Anyway I am going to need a lot of advice and even more prayers.

  • Welcome! : D
I'll admit I've never been more surprised about anything in my life than at our first ultrasound, my actual words were "Are you $hitting me!?!? " Real classy-like.

It's a huge thing to process and it changed everything for us, but it's been a hell of an adventure and I wouldn't have it any other way. Our girls are 5 months old and while its been rough, I've been surprised as well that we've been able to manage ok.
    All the best to you!!!

  • Welcome!  At my first ultrasound (ER, horrible stomach pain, hubby at home with son) I said "Oh, I see a heart beat!" and the nurse replied "Really, well I see 2!"  I couldn't see anything after that, my eyes were so filled with happy tears.  :)

  • I cried ugly tears for four days after they found 2 - just out of fear of how we were going to manage 2, where they would go, hoping they would make it through the vanishing twin phase, panic, etc. It is totally normal! I also said "Oh Shit" at my twin discovery ultrasound. Classy lady! Thank God for my husband, he was so excited it got me through those first rough days.

Now, of course, as everyone says, I would not have it any other way - one baby at a time now seems weird lol lol

  • Congratulations! It will be fine.

I also cried uncontrollably when I got home from the ultrasound. Totally normal. Even at 30 weeks, DH and I look at each other and can't believe we are having two.

  • I am just so nervous, because E was such an easy baby and he's still a baby. I feel like we may have three babies instead of a toddler and two...blah. Plus I work horrid hours and am on my feet all the time. I will hopefully switch to family practice soon so I just do clinic work.

  • I am a NP at a hospital in the city too! My hours are not terrible, 4 ten hour shifts, no weekends, nights, or holidays. I too was shocked and cried when I first found out. Our DD is 3 and keeps us busy. I am just starting to get used to the idea of adding 2prw children to our family! Good luck to you.
