What meds if any are egg donor recipents put on??

Do you take injections at all when your a recipient of a donor egg???or do you not have to take any injections at all. Also do you have to come in bloodwork appointments?? no ultrasound appointments like you have for monitoring correct?

Glad I can answer some of your questions.

When I cycled at SG with DE, they put me on birth control to sync my cycle with my donor's.  Then I started on estrogen and progesterone injections which I stayed on into my pregnancies.  It was a pain doing injections, but I found these meds to be much less difficult to tolerate than the ones I took when cycling with my own eggs (Follistim, etc.).  The estrogen and progesterone didn't affect me too much, and the cost is a fraction of the ones I used when using my own eggs.  

I had a couple of ultrasounds in preparation for cycling.  I think the first one was just a preliminary check to make sure that everything was suppressed, and then the second one was a lining check (I might have had one more after that - can't remember).

You will likely be on estrogen and progesterone to thicken your lining as well as lupron to prevent ovulation leading up to the transfer.  You might even start off on bcp.  The injections would be the lupron and probably PIO.  Though I have read of people using progesterone suppositories like crinone, I think PIO is more popular for donor cycles.  Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong.

This! Except my RE has me take progesterone vaginally rather then shots.

Or you can be 'lucky' like me and will get to do both vaginal progesterone and the PIO shots (which are intramuscular, typically done in the outer hip/upper buttock area), LOL!  Although, my PIO shots were every other day, while the inserts started at 1x/day and moved to 2x/day after transfer.

No, only the egg donor would take these types of medications as they are meant to stimulate production of multiple eggs.  As a recipient, you would only take medications to prepare the uterine lining to prepare it for the transfer of the embryos (fertilized eggs).

I suggest you read up on IVF egg donor cycles...but the ladies here have given you a lot of  helpful information.

This was me exactly.  The only challenge was that they are all intramuscular shots so your bum gets really sore after 4-5 weeks and you get super bloated. I think I was taking them daily for 10 weeks.
