I have a confession. When I was a barista (a few years ago) and a little ignorant to pregnancy rules I had a gang of customers all big pregnant ordering regular coffe drinks and I remember thinking "omg I thought this was bad for baby". I never said anything to their faces and I gave them exactly what they ordered but I remember being scared that I was contributing to harming someone's baby. It wasn't a judgemental feeling, more of a "I guess she knows what's ok" feeling. Now that I'm pregnant I am way more aware of what's ok and I totally follow the "everything in moderation except for drugs" philosophy lol

Seriously, is the "under 200mg of caffeine" rule new or something? I feel like everyone (including some women with kids) are like "You can't have caffeine while pregnant!" Ummm, my tall macchiato is 65mg of caffeine, I could have three of them if I wanted! What's up with that?

One of my coworkers was shocked yesterday when I mentioned the 200mg rule. In her defense she doesn't have kids yet but she's got a lot of friends with kids and was amazed when I mentioned it while defending my daily 7.5 oz can of coke

I added the coffee thing because my doc said to try to limit the caffeine until 10 weeks (I have also been high risk the whole time). I picked the first option but I have had a few cups and decaf after 10 weeks. I wasn't trying to be exact, just general a mind sets so people could get an example.
