Help me raise my beast!

Working parents, what is your night routine? I need some ideas for tired kid friendly things to do with short amounts of time.

I work 10 hours a day, so our evenings are limited in time. I usually walk in the door and make dinner/eat/bath/reading/playing/cuddles and bedtime. I feel like we have no real quality time at night.

Suggestions for quick activites? We sometimes do play-doh or coloring in place of reading.

Re: Help me raise my beast!

  • We cuddle in our bed after bath sometimes and watch animal shows on tv. They love it and actually learn something. It's a nice way to wind down too

  • I try to make bath time more of an activity than a chore. I always switch out toys and the toys are learning ones. Like the foam letters and foam square ones with pictures and words. Also tub coloring. To me this kills two birds with one stone. The other night I used these duckies I got from B&B that light up. I turned the lights off and she had a blast.

  • I think what you're doing is perfectly fine. How old? I'm on mobile. .

  • We sometimes put YouTube on the tv and put on dance songs. And just act silly. Tonight we played the 'cupid shuffle' song.

  • If you don't want to spend the money on those ducks, the dollar store always carries the glow in the dark sticks.
  • Bath and body and the light inside changes colors.
  • Yep. I bought them a month ago and they still work.

    This is a great idea. She loves bath time so I think the foam letters would be awesome.

    @manneek1977 she is 2 1/2.
