If Paige got tylenol at 11 and 4:30 can she have anything at 8-8:30??? What is the rule alternating tylenol and motrin????

She could have either at 8:30.  4 hrs for Tylenol, 6 hrs for Motrin.  DD's pedi recommends alternating the two every 3 hrs.

she could have either... general rule of thumb is the tylenol every 4hrs, motrin every 6hr. Our pedi does not recommend alternating meds...mainly b/c of the risk of double dosing on one rather than giving the alternate. I'd only move on to the other med after 3hrs and no or little improvement if the temp is over 102.  (that's my personal opinion, not medical advice).

you can alternate every 3 hours like pp's said.  i only do that when he is running a high fever (103 or more) to keep him comfortable and help with the fever.  if it is mainly for teething i use motrin.
