Oven or Hell!!! I'm roasting!!!

I understand that out metabolism does wacky things while we are pregnant but I am beginning to think my broiler and Hell are cooler than my office.... Sad thing is the thermometer says its 73 in here which yesterday felt fine!!!

I am patting myself down with cool paper towels with a fan on trying to cool off!

Could easily go home, strip down to next to nothing and lay under a ceiling fan right now!!!

Any one else melting at relatively normal temps?

Re: Oven or Hell!!! I'm roasting!!!

  • Yup.  I had to have a talk with the girls in my office that routinely keep the heat at 74 and then with the afternoon sun it creeps up from there.

  • DH tried to turn off the ceiling fan last night (it was 68 in our house).  I told him "touch it and die".  I always start off bundled up in bed because I'm freezing and wake up in the middle of the night sweating.  Today I was thinking how hot it is in our house (it's in the 60s outside and I still have our AC on because of allergies but it hasn't run in days).  It was 66 earlier and I was hot.  It's up to 68 now from the sun being out and I'm kind of cold.  I'm going to take a nap in like 20 minutes and I know I'll wake up sweating.

  • Uh, I'm with you. I've always been someone who is cold and likes to be bundled, but not anymore. When I'm working most of my 12h is spent sweating and as soon as I go in a patient's room- forget it. It's like instant upper lip sweat. My husband would always freeze me out in bed making it so cold and uncomfortable I couldn't sleep. Now I die and don't want a blanket touching my body.

I look forward to cuddling up with blankets and hot tea again.
  • Right there with you - I'm roasting! And I am usually always cold!

  • I'm there too!  I was always freezing but I found that I have to sleep with the window open at night.  Our nights are getting into the 40's/50's and my poor DH is freezing, but knows better than to complain.  I just find that I sleep better when it's cooler because I don't wake up soaking in sweat!

  • DH is thrilled, says this is the first time I'm not stealing all the blankets!

  • Can totally relate! Always hot and always sweating. ...can't wait to feel cold again! Come on winter!

  • Yes. We had the first cold front of the year come through. I walked outside in a tank and said, "it feels amazing out here!" Looked at the thermometer and it said 52. Normally I would be miserable if it dropped below 70.

  • Yes, I was at a football game Sunday and it was like 60 and we were in the shade the while time. It felt fantastic!

  • My SO's mom is in town from FL and is staying with us. I'm constantly hot and she is constantly cold. Guess who wins the battle of the thermostat? :(
