My son has an IEP for Speech. He only started this year but the problem he was having appears to not be an issue anymore, I rarely hear it and the Speech Teacher did not even know why he was in there. I am giving it some time and the Speech Teacher is talking to his regular teacher and then we will reassess. If the teacher does not hear any issues and the speech teacher agrees, anyone know what needs to happen to stop services? And does the IEP stand for the year? Any other thoughts welcome.

Services can stop at any time. If he has met all his goals and there are no other issues presenting then you will just sign on the dotted line and ST is over.
If, in the future, you see problems crop up you can ask the district to re-evaluate your son and services may be offered again. Keep in mind that you will still have some wait time to start services again since they will need to re-evaluate, write report, open the IEP and schedule your son for services. Schools are allowed so many days before they have to evaluate and so many days before they have to schedule once a need is discovered. It adds up to 90 days.
