Has anyone had a baby who isn't crazy about solids at 6 months? I know anything before 1 year is just for fun. But I feel like everyone around me, their babies start eating solids right away at 6 months or sooner, grabbing the spoon with such enthusiasm. LO is inconsistent. Some days she seems to like it. Other days she seems annoyed and refuses to eat. I gave her a break from solids for a couple days, and then gave her a little oatmeal today once, which she did eat. I feel like if she's refusing to eat, giving her a little break is good. I'm not in any rush and am not forcing her at all. But then my grandmother says to continue offering her food so she gets used to it. If your LO took a while to get into eating solids, how did you approach it?
Re: LO not crazy for solids
I think I was a little too excited about this solid thing. I had made purees of various fruits and veggies and was hoping to go through them one at a time with her..She had other plans I guess and just wasn't a fan of the purees or being spoon fed.
I gave her a few days break and tried again and when she wasn't interested still we gave up and started her on BLW. She mostly plays with her food. It's been a month now. I hope soon she'd started eating more instead of playing with it.
So far she likes to play with broccoli the most (least expected). I don't know if it's the texture of the little leafy buds that she likes or she actually likes the test of broccoli but hey I am not complaining. I am dipping broccoli in yogurt and oatmeal and giving it to her!
When we were doing purees there were a few days where she hated to be in her high chair so we backed off and just put her there to play with her toys..I was afraid she'd get an aversion to her high chair and food.. and wanted meal time to be fun.
My DD isn't good at nursing either (and refuses bottles) so I was really hoping that she'd like and eat more solid but I understand I can't rush it, it's on her terms. So we'll keep at BLW and see what happens.

She isn't a big eater, so I dropped her morning feed and now we just do a small lunch, a snack in the afternoon, and dinner. She eats what she wants of it, and we save the rest.
I try to stick with the homemade fruits m veggies she loves, so she still gets some, but it's hit n miss.
She is much more into finger foods such as Cheerios, puffs, tofu, egg yolk, etc.

Yes, eventually, but it's not a big deal if her DD doesn't want it now. It's not something that needs to be forced.
