Fioricet didn't work

I'm so disappointed. I'm a migraine sufferer and take imitrex when not pregnant.
This pregnancy the headaches have been terrible.
The doctor gave me Fioricet months ago but I managed without it up until now. I hate taking any meds while pregnant, like most women.
The headache started on Saturday and Tylenol & coffee aren't touching it so I broke down today and took a pill.
Well it took the edge off for a maybe one hour but now it's back! What now?

No med will work properly if you wait till the last min to take it. Fioricet is a powerful caffeine pack drug and should knock that right out, but you are going to have to take it when the headache starts. I hope you feel better. I took it with my last pregnancy and it did me wonders. This pregnancy I have a new town and new doctor and will not give it to me.

I had a migraine all weekend. I just laid around and slept. I am much better today.

I got this Rx last week and have taken the meds three times. The first time it worked well and the second time I had to take two (4 hours apart) for it to help. I wake up with headaches so I can't really take it at the start of the headache. Im prone to headaches (not migraines) but these pregnancy headaches have been out of control.

I use Fioricet when not pregnant- thankfully I haven't had to use it during the pregnancy yet, but when I do use it most times it knocks my headaches out immediately. Every once in a while I have to take a second dose for it to work. I agree with the previous poster - don't wait until the headache is so intense that nothing will work. When you feel the headache coming on - take action then.

When I get migraines, only sleep will totally knock it out. Can you ask for Phenergan? I took it for HG this pregnancy and it knocked me out. I had a migraine set in when I got dehydrated and this was the only thing that touched it.
