August 2011 Moms

Randoms

1. MIL's visit wasn't so bad. Except for the "WTF am I gonna do with myself" part when she set camp in the family room, everything went smoothly. She is spending the week with her sister and mother (they live 2 hours from here) and she will be back next Sunday to spend some more time with us before she heads back home.

2. I've already started my Christmas shopping. I didn't mean to but I saw cute sunglasses on clearance and figured they'd make great stocking stuffers.

3. For the first time in my life, I put up an ad to sell of the things we don't need anymore. I am now $100 richer and my house feels that much less cluttered. Woohoo!

4. Baby Boy won't roll over. He is 5.5 months old. I am beginning to worry. He did roll from tummy to back very early on, but he hasn't done it in months.

5. I was so freaking excited about my house being clean I had to call my mom. lol.

Re: Randoms

  • 1. We survived a nearly 4-hour trip to the car dealership this morning. I avoided a total meltdown from DS through the help of a donut, Scooby Doo, a pile of decorative rocks, and the awesome pirate ship playground.

    2. DH and I had to postpone the trip we wanted to take over the Christmas break. I was looking forward to it, but I know it will just be easier logistically next year.

    3. I keep seeing previews on tv for the next Hobbit movie and I'm rather excited.

  • DS2 just turned 5 months and he has zero desire to roll, like none. He loves to kick his legs like crazy but it hasn't occurred to him to roll yet. It's probably my own fault because we didn't do a whole lot of tummy time early on. He doesn't mind it that much now so I'm hoping that will help.

So funny you should mention that, because I literally just posted the same exact thing on Baby Boy's BMB FB page. He doesn't roll at all, he hasn't found his feet, he is nowhere near sitting unassisted and he doesn't babble yet. :/

DS knows he can get away with things easier because mama has ouchies. He is driving me crazy!

DH is not getting enough sleep and is a grumpy ass. Once I'm back to 100% he can STFU and take a damn nap or to to bed early.

DH is going to be gone the next three Friday night - Saturday night with the guys. I'm totally pissed about this. Call me selfish or jealous but I need to get out! (I do not have close friends like DH does)

DD is thankfully a very good baby. She has her fussy moments but who doesn't?

  • 1. Just got back from the playground and a stop at my mom's.  Both girls fell asleep in the car, and stayed asleep when I brought them inside.  This has happened, um, zero times ever.  I'm enjoying it while I can, we've had a few hard weeks.

    2. We've suddenly received an explosion of invitations to Halloween-related events this month.  As much as I love keeping busy and getting out on the weekends, I'm already exhausted at the thought of attending everything.

    3.  Since finishing all available seasons of Parenthood, I'm now re-watching Gossip Girl on Netflix.  So bad, and yet, so good!
