Sure. As long as the seller has good ratings, I don't see why not. You always have Paypal to protect you if the product isn't as described (bad condition, etc). I bought a k'tan off eBay without any problems.
I bought a used ergo at a consignment. It is washable, so I just put it in the washing machine before I used it. I got a great deal on it too ($35). :-)

I wouldn't. A lot of the Ergos on Ebay are fakes. There are ways to tell the difference, but usually you won't know till you see it in person. Fake Ergos or Fergos are not safe! They haven't been tested for structural soundness. If you want a good deal check out The Babywearer or your local chapter of Babywearing International.
I bought mine off ebay for 50% of the normal price. They are machine washable and as long as the seller has good ratings it is very worth it!! Some things you just don't need to buy new, and the ergo baby carrier is one!
