Number of Wet Diapers

I'm just curious about the number of wet diapers your LO has in a day after being weaned off of the bottle. Her fluid intake has decreased a lot, so naturally she's not having as many wet diapers and/or they aren't as wet as they were before. I tried looking online and I couldn't really come up with anything.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Number of Wet Diapers

  • I think I change around 8 times a day but she drinks water fairly often.

  • We're at 4-6 wet diapers a day. 5 is pretty normal for us.

  • I haven't really noticed any change in the number of diapers we go through. DD loves to drink water so I don't think her fluid intake is much less .

  • Um we are about 4 a day. DS has always had a problem with not drinking much water/milk. We had talked to our pediatrician about this and she said he is probably still getting enough liquids from all the fruit he eats, so I try not to worry about it.
  • At 14 months, our DD got very ill (ICU ill). I was extremely concerned about her hydration status. Our pedi said that she needed to have a minimum of 3 wet diapers in a 24 hour period. I know this is an extreme example, but at least it gives you an absolute minimum number. Also, when I asked about the saturation of each diaper, the pedi said that wet is wet. If she is urinating, that means she has an excess and that is a good thing. Hope this helps.
