Shoessssss

It is KILLING me to think of dropping $25 on a pair of shoes for DD, especially as she isn't walking yet. But she is cruising like a fiend and playing outside is a big challenge as the weather gets cooler. Socks just aren't going to cut it. Anyone with experience with Robeez... are they really worth it? I'm thinking of just getting the Target Ministar shoes because they're similarly designed, but cheaper. Anybody tried both?

Re: Shoessssss

  • I like Robeez & Striderite for sneakers and playshoes however, for things like dress shoes and sandals for DS I ended up getting Smartfit from Payless since they have a very similar sole to the more expensive shoes. I am actually planning on getting DS a few pairs of boots from there this winter since I can catch them on sale for under $15. His feet grow fast so I can't see paying $50 a pair for 3 or more pairs of shoes.

  • I'm with PP.  For DDs sneakers and playshoes, I spend the money on the better shoes.  For her dress or specialty shoes, I go to Payless or Target.

  • I've bought DD lots of shoes at consignment shops. I've found Stride Rite and nice Nike shoes barely worn and cheap!

I went looking at two different OUAC and just didn't have any luck finding anything in her size :-/

Thanks, all! I'm just going to bite the bullet. She'll be able to wear them for a couple of months, at least.

  • As a not quite on point response, I'd add that it is worth getting your LO used to footwear earlier than later. DS absolutely freaked when we went to buy his first pair of shoes, and at that point he was already walking. So getting them familiar in advance is probably a good call.

  • Well, I won an auction for a pair of Robeez on eBay for $10, and then went to the OUAC in a nicer part of town and got her another pair of Robeez and a pair of Stride Rites for $15. I don't feel so bad now :D
