Hello ladies!!
I haven't been on here in a while, so here is my story in a nutshell. My hubby and I have been TTC baby #2 for over 2 years now. (We had a hard time conceiving #1, too, but our 3rd round of Clomid +IUI worked with him). This time, we have had 3 failed rounds of Clomid + IUI (one resulted in a chemical pregnancy) and 2 failed rounds of Femara + IUI... My RE recommended that IVF would be our next best course of action. After taking several months off to give my mind and body a break, we are starting our first round of IVF. I start Lupron injections tomorrow! I am excited and extremely anxious about the coming weeks. (I was so overwhelmed when I got my HUGE box of meds in the mail yesterday). I don't know anyone who has done IVF, so I would love any tips/advice/warnings that you have for me.
Thank you ladies!! Is anyone else starting Lupron tomorrow? I'd love a buddy!

Erica

Welcome! I just finished my first round of IVF and am in the 2WW. The whole process was MUCH easier than I expected, especially after Google told me some horror stories. I did the Lupron and Follistim, and my hcg trigger was Novarel. I am a huge wuss when it comes to needles, and I was able to do them all myself. I was so proud of myself!
The retrieval was very quick, I was completely out during the retrieval and woke up comfortably with DH by my side. They got 11 eggs, and I had very minimal bloating. I took colase and drank lots of gatorade!
The transfer was equally as quick, and the worst part was having a full bladder and thinking I was going to pee all over the doctor
"> They transferred one 5 day blast, I sat there for 10 minutes, then went home and watched tv on the couch and napped.
I know there is always the possibility of OHSS, but I promise my experience with IVF was that it was much less overwhelming than I thought in the beginning. You can do it!!
After 3 failed Clomid+TI cycles, DD was conceived with IUI#1
TTC #2
Clomid 50 mg + IUI#1 = BFP, m/c and D&C at 7w1d

Lupron + Follistim + IVF#1 = 11ER, 10M, 10F, ET of 1 expanded BBA 5-day blast, 2 Frosties. BFP! Beta 10/13 = 264! Beta 10/15 = 702! EDD 6/21/14
