Mommy's little helper ... (PIP)

I got help cleaning the apartment this weekend  :)  yes it's a real vacuum and yes it was plugged in. I had to fight him for the Dyson because he loves using my cannister vacuum too. He would vacuum for hours if you let him, but after half an hour the noise is driving me nuts, so it gets switched off and he continues to "vacuum" for another half hour or so.

  • That is so awesome! DD wiped down her little table after lunch. How long till they realize cleaning isn't fun?

  • My dd loves our dyson. I haven't been brave enough to let her hold it while it's on, because you know it doesn't lose suction. ;)

  • The litte Devil has no moving parts in the head and we turn off the moving heads on the Dyson if he is using it.. He is pretty good with it.  Spinning brushes are a no no with little fingers and he doesnt wear anything with drawstring necks that could get caught in it.. no matter how good the suction

  • @kaleb87 I can't stop laughing at your comment.
  • What is it with little kids and vacuums?  DS is seriously obsessed with ours.  He's happy as a clam when it's on.. my house has never been vacuumed as frequently as it has in the last 3-4 months.  If I give him the little handheld dustbuster-style vacuum, he will seriously run that thing until the batteries die.

He'll also get a cloth and wipe down his little picnic table when he spills water or something on it.  I'm hoping this enthusiasm for cleaning continues once he's older!

@mrscjmb9410 same here! DD hates it! I wish she didn't. I always have to wait to vacuum until DH gets home so he can hold her!

@mrscjmb9410 that is too funny.. we have to hide it from DS sometimes when we're just sick of vacuuming and him playing with it.  I think it started out with DH letting him play with the hose and attachments, then turning it on and showing him how it picks stuff up (tearing up little pieces of paper, then letting him watch them get sucked up into the tube) and then pushing it around a little bit.  I can't remember at what point exactly he stopped being freaked out by the noise, but for the last 6 months or so, he's LOVED it.
