OK, here's my sitch: I'm a contracted consultant and I work directly with a trade association. They just had a round of lay offs and my job was saved mostly because I'm bringing in a lot of money for them right now-A LOT! I work from home so I rarely have to make an appearance live and in person at their offices. Because of the lay offs (and despite my earning power for them) I'm nervous that they'll cancel my contract when I tell them about PG. Mostly because they probably assume that I won't be coming back afterwards. BTW, I'm also a military wife and we'll be transferring next summer. An option would be to take the work with me but I don't really want to (chasing down a 10YO and a newborn=not much time for work, not to mention the move itself).
NOTE-I need only to give them 30 days notice in my contract that I intend to cancel and vice versa.
So, I plan on not telling them for as long as possible. We plan to have me quit in April. Thoughts?
Re: When to tell work question..
I am personally waiting to tell my workplace. I know my materninty leave is really going to tick them off (we're short staffed...) anyway, I'm not sure if I will even come back... So I'm waiting a long time...
In regards to them cancelling your contract because your PG is illegal. If they do that you would have a really nice lawsuit on them.
