advice needed

Ive been asked to assume a Chair position for the board of my local industry association?
I just returned to working outside the house 4 days a week
after being home for a year. I also still have 2 small consulting gigs i work on (approximately 4- 8 hours a week)

Pay is very minimal. The benefit is it would help me maintain my recertification credits for a credential i have without even having to attend a ton of events or semianrs and attendance at events i do attend would be free. I said i would start back with things after my LO was a year or so.

But it would add another hour or 2 max to my week on average.
What would you do? Am i crazy to say yes?

Re: advice needed

  • I would do it...seems like it would be really beneficial to you and an hour or 2 a week doesn't sound so bad.

whats making you doubt doing it?

  • Me too. It sounds like a good opportunity for you and like others have mentioned if it's only an hour or two extra that is good.

  • Definitely do it. Whats the worst that could happen? If you don't do it, you'll wonder later if you made the right decision. If you do it and you hate it, you quit. If you do it and you like it then SCORE! Keep us posted!! :)

  • Thanks ladies! i can set my time for things but i would have to attend an event each week (an hour or so)
Bedtime and dinner time is super important to me to do this for my LO. Im home each day by 4 or 430p. Bedtime is 7p (the start at least)
Events are like at 5p or 530p.
    Thats my only thing:(
