Crying Over Food? Anyone?

Last night I got myself the last of the homemade salsa and DH sat next to me and started eating with me. I gave him a look and he laughed it off. I had a few chips and next thing I know its gone! He hoovered my snack! I started crying like a toddler. He asked if I was crying because I didn't get enough salsa and I got put between sobs "No, you don't understand I wanted ALL the salsa!"
I hate feeling hungry at night. If I wasn't mobile I would've added some sweet gifs.

OMG YES! I have cried more over food than anything else both pregnancies. Just a few weeks ago I shared a story about how my Mom threw away a whoopie pie on me and I completely broke down so bad that it woke up my three year old. First pregnancy I cried because DH made arugula salad instead of Caesar for dinner.

  • Sorry, but I LOLed. I tend to get angry more than sad about food... but I get where you're coming from. And I SOOOOO know what you mean by hating to be hungry at night. It makes me all twitchy.

  • I totally understand wanting all of the salsa! I really want all of the vintage cola's from trader joes and did NOT ok my hubby to make rum and cokes with them. Wah!

Same here, I get pretty ticked off at H if he takes more than the serving I thought he would take at dinner. For example, I made this amazing beef stir fry and he usually doesn't eat much of the stir fry and takes more rice. So I made more rice and less of the stir fry thinking that he would have more rice and I would get more stir fry. Wrong. I was pissed the rest of the evening. Whenever this happens I usually am way too embarrassed to tell him exactly why I am upset. It just seems so silly, but I can't help it!

  • OP, that's adorable and funny and yet SO TRUE!
DH and I were out to dinner last week and I ordered fries as my side - mind you, these are hand cut daily, pure real potato goodness - and he KEPT EATING MY FRIES!!  I was stuffed and had a ton left but just the fact that he would dare take any more of his poor pregnant wife's fries had me biting back both tears and irrational nasty words.

  • Yep, I've done that. But then again I feel bad for DH. I get mad about my trail mix.
  • Yup. Cried when I woke up and found out my husband ate the last donut I was dreaming about the night before. X(
  • These stories make me laugh and feel sad at the same time. Hasn't happened to me yet, but I wouldn't put it past myself.
  • I gave H a dead arm last night as he pinched my last Rolo. I think he's learnt his lesson.
  • Around 20 weeks or so I got so upset that my pork chop had too much fat on it and had a meltdown. In hindsight its funny but at the time I was a mess.

  • When I was pregnant with my first, DH accidentally spilled his glass of soda all over my french fries. I totally cried.
