Clomid?

will your Ob only give it to certain people? im just wondering why so many people are on it, is there a certain reason? my best friend was on it hoping for twins but i didnt know if there was a reason (health wise) she was taking it or just cuz she wanted twins? TIA

and sorry for all of my stupid questions!

    My dr has offered to call in a prescription for me, but it's because I O really late or not at all.  I believe (and hope) that they only give it those who need it.

    Clomid should only be prescribed to women who either don't ovulate or who ovulate late in their cycle, causing a short of a lp. It does increase your chances of conceiving twins, but it should never be taken solely for that reason. Clomid can have very serious side effects and you should be closely monitored while taking it.

    My dr gave me a rx for Clomid due to the fact that I O really late in my cycle and we have been ttc for 29mos now...

    I will be taking it next cycle and will be closely monitored by RE. I am taking it because some cycles I dont ovulate or I ovulate very late. It should not be given out and I would really hope that doctors are not just giving it away like candy.
