Like, "Melissa....Dinner."
I was just thinking that my mom used to do that all the time when it was dinner time b/c we just ran the neighborhood all day. I have no idea where my husband and child are right now and was seriously contemplating it. Dinner has been on the table for a long time. LOL

We have always lived in the country. I used to be acres away and usually playing with friends which included the boy who lived across the road. His parents would honk the car horn three times. That meant for him to come home...and I would too (unless I wanted to ride my bike or walk down a dirt road in the dark!).
For our older kids we never yelled. We also live in the country and there were no playmates close enough for walking distance. Closest was about 4 miles away. We would just call on the phone and ask them to be ready when I get there. With the two youngest I'll probably tell them to have their cell phones handy. lol
