My mums name is Judy and my husband had an Aunty Jude who he was quite close to, who passed away about 6 years ago.
DS' mn is Wallace after my dad.
We have decided on seraphina as a first name and my husband wanted to honour his Aunty by using Judy. Problem is, I don't like the "ee" sound!
We can just use Jude for a girls MN can't we? I looked up some baby name sites and some listed it as a girls name as well.
Second problem, DH was also VERY close to his grandmother and her name was Isabel. He wants Belle or bella in there too, but I think it's too much.
What do you think? Last name sounds like "pears"
Seraphina Jude
Seraphina Jude belle
Seraphina Jude bella
Seraphina Jude Isabel
Anything but Jude on its own sounds much to me.
Re: Jude as a mn for a girl? And MN advice.
Thx for the idea tho. Might end up doing just that!
You can't honor every body with one baby, so I think it is better to pick either the aunt or the g-ma to honor and not both.
Alternatively I think Judybelle is better than Jude on it's own.
Ha ha
Well actually.... My mums real name is Judith and she absolutely HATES it and has always gone my Judy. The only person who calls her Judith is my nanna. And my husbands Aunty was Judy not Judith.
I think the point of only honouring one person per baby is a really good one. I will tell DH to pick!

I think Seraphina Isabel sounds and looks better anyway.
