Pregnant after IF

completely not PAIF related- just a vent i have to get out.

sorry to do this ladies but i just have to vent for a minute and this is the only place i feel comfortable doing so.  my brother in law is gay, and he and his partner of 10 + years are thinking of getting married.  my state does not legalize gay marriage so they are thinking of going to ny (i am in nj).  they told us this last week.  then they tell us it will probably be in november or december.  His partner's sister in law is also due around Christmas and i'm imaginging we are both going to be pretty darn uncomfortable around that time.  with all the issues i have been having with contractions when walking too much, feeling dizzy and dropping blood pressure, i am 100% positive there is not a way i would feel comfortable taking 2 trains (have to take a 45 minute train, then a 30 minute path train, then walk for 8 blocks), to the place they would be having the ceremony.  they know that i've been having trouble and i feel so selfish even saying this but i'm a bit upset they didn't take this into consideration.  blah.  just have to get it out.  sorry for hijacking the thread and thanks for listening.

  • Sorry Jez.  If you are worried about the trains, maybe YH can drive you into the city.  DH won't even let me take the train to NYC while pregnant (and that is on a Midtown Direct), so I hear your frustration.   It's a bummer that your BIL isn't considering his guests' comfort when selecting dates though.

it's only going to be the couple, their brother's and wives who are invited, so a total of 6 of us.  well, when 2 of us can't even go comfortably/safely, i'm not sure why they are doing it then.  i'm partly frustrated that i'm not feeling great and am now limited in what i can do, and partly frustrated that they aren't realizing both me and their other sister in law won't be able to go.  i was thinking of the driving thing- it's in lower manhattan by the world trade center and parking is a royal pain in the rear around there.  i used to work their for a month assignment for work 2 years ago and am at least familiar with the area, my husband says don't even consider going but i can't help but try to think of ways i could make this work.  and they are doing this on a weekday so everyone also would have to take off work.  i realize i sound childish and selfish- i'm just whiny this week.  :(

  • I refuse to go to the city while pg. For one, there's no public rest room that I feel comfortable using. I grew up in NY, so I know there's no street etiquette and people will bump you left and right. Besides that, all the damn walking that's involved. And I just can't. Unleas dh is driving me and were going to eat, and come back home to NJ i refuse. I totally agree with you hun. Those boys in your belly come first, and if walking those 8 long blocks will possibly have you contract, no! I've been whiny and emotional all week. Ugh.
TTC Since 112010 Naturally. Diagnose:PCOS(ME) + Low Motility(HIM). Started IVF+ICSI Cycle 12312. ER 27 & ET 210 two embies transferred. *BFN 1ST IVF CYCLE.* **Getting as healthy as possible and will try IVFICSI#2 again hopefully in April.** -- HAVE FAITH; LET GO & LET GOD --
  • That is totally uncool if 2 of the 6 attendees will be uncomfortable.  Can someone point that out to them?

  • Sorry they don't seem to understand how that will be an issue for you & his partners SIL :( feeling frustrated about how you are feeling physically is totally understandable, carrying two LOs puts a lot of pressure on your body, it is very difficult, but the reward will be awesome :) vent away & hopefully they will understand how this probably won't work for you.
