Frequent Urination. When does it end?

I thought during the second trimester I wouldn't be getting up in the middle of the night to pee but it hasn't stopped. I got up 3x last night and I know it'll be this way during the third trimester as babies usually kick your bladder. When will this end?

Re: Frequent Urination. When does it end?

  • I am up at least 4 times every night, and am assuming this will continue for the next 4 months.

  • I'm up once a night and expect that to increase. By the end last time I was up 4x a night.

Even after delivery I was still up almost every night to pee just once. Even 6 years later. Pregnancy changes your body forever and it just varies in what way from person to person.

  • I get up 2-4x as well... It's annoying but it can't last forever! I'm considering it practise for when the babies are up all night!

  • I've been getting up to pee at least 4 times a night for months now! Don't think it will get better, but only worse!

  • Never..  Seriously, my bladder never went back to pre-pregnancy function.  It sucks.
  • It will end like a week or 2 postpartum...a lot of times they pump you full of fluid while you're in labor (if you get an epidural)...then you'll still be peeing quite frequently even with the baby out. But trust me it'll get worse before it gets better!

  • Yup, after birth :)

  • Birth. LOL I pee 3 or 4 times a night and often can't get back to sleep. It's awesome, huh?

  • I had like a 2 week period where LO was letting me sleep through the night. However, after that he began practicing acrobatics in my belly and wakes me up every night around 3-3:45am to pee. I'm usually up twice.

  • Ha! Pretty much what the girls said. After birth. Once you get closer to your due date & the baby gets bigger... you'll make even more trips!

  • I hear it gets substantially worse when your LO drops down in your pelvis in the last few weeks. But at least that takes some of the pressure off your lungs and stomach so you can eat a full meal and take a deep breath... yay.

  • Depends. Some times you go back to normal after birth, but for me I still pee more post DS than I did before pregnancy.

  • Some time after birth. The first few weeks you pee and sweat so much because you have so much extra fluid to get rid of

  • Yep, it'll end when the baby's out. I've always been a night time pee-er (up 2-3x night) and now I'm up 4-6x night. It was actually the worst for me in the first trimester and got better for awhile and has been picking back up in the past several weeks again.
