Date nights

So dh has been asking for years that I step up and plan more dates for him and I so after pinning tonight I decided to make him 12 pre planned mostly pre paid dated in envelopes for Christmas. Some are home dates some are not trying to spend as little money as I can while still making them special....

I started a list of possibles but I'm wondering what dates do you love?? What would be some of your 12 dates?

Not sure what is available where you are but these are some of my favorite past dates with DH. Mountain hike, picnic in the park, dinner cruise on the river, wine tasting, trolley ride around town, horse carriage ride (really nice in winter), go out just for dessert - I'm not talking ice cream, but like a café or someplace you can get really good dessert, snowshoeing (this one was hilarious because neither of us had done it before).

  • I love active dates too @littleredfish! We used to do all kinds of stuff - tennis & a picnic, golf, batting cages then hot dogs & beers, etc. I also like to mix it up and do breakfast or brunch dates. I love a good brunch.
My brother & his girlfriend did a couples massage class recently, something like that or a cooking class or beer/wine tasting.

Sounds like a great idea @bellelamb!

  • Honestly, one of the nights I had a ton of fun at was laser tag!  no joke, what a good time.  also movies, sunsets, just going for a nice drive without the wining in the back (we have a wrangler so top off usually), any minor league teams around you?  that can be fun too.  maybe even a night at a bed and breakfast for a splurge night?
good luck and that's a good idea...
  • We don't really do dates since dh has a bad back and it bothers him to go out to a nice restaurant and sit for so long, so we go to faster places like Rubios or noodles and company for eating out, but one thing I do like to do that is date like is to drink wine with snacks and have great conversions. You can do that at home for fairly cheap and you can suit at a table or on the couch or in bed, you could do wine pairings, like open 3 bottles and do a half glass with 3 different foods, cheese, chocolate, nuts etc and then have a glass of your favorite while chatting. This is also nice because you can do this after lo is in bed and not worry about driving, just eat a lighter dinner so you don't feel to full to have the snacks, I find that makes it more enjoyable than wine alone.

@GromMom - That is new favorite thing to do. We get a bottle or two of wine and lots of cheese and crackers and just make a picnic on the floor.

We have been really trying to find local things to go to lately with LO and by ourselves. This weekend we went to a garlic festival with LO and that was a lot of fun. We have found that a lot of local parks and churches do free concerts. We have been doing that a lot as date nights.
  • Ooh a garlic festival sounds delicious! I also love picnics!
  • Dh hates wine or I would do that! I love the idea but him not so much! I was thinking a beer tasting same idea.
