Mobile Giffing: How to

I use an iPhone with Chrome so your experience might be different but not by much. (this works in the app. didn't try in the browser-bumping but it should work)

1) find amazing gif online.

2) Copy the gif address. This is easier if you open the gif in its own tab/window. Or click and hold I believe opens the option to copy address.

3) Open bump thread. (jumping apps!)

4a) when you'd like to put your gif in type this: <img src="PASTE GIF ADDRESS HERE">

4b) another way to paste a link in is <a href="Put address here">

carrot img space src equals quote (paste link) quote carrot. all lowercase. boom. simple html (a is an image b is a link. makes no dif for this purpose).

NOW! go ahead and test here (although I strongly suggest using edit rather than posting 5 times until you get it... the edit should be a little cog/gear icon.)

@kacie they way you explained it didn't work for me, I just directly copied to code from Gif soup and pasted it. I am on mobile it worked fine.

You're my hero. I was bumping using the mobile app, and could never get it to work. Just need to use Chrome from now on.

Sweet. yea i figured some people would work different due to browser/phone complexities.

if you want to share your phone type (apple, andriod, windows) I'll add that to the original post

@bunnyfungo I don't use the bump app. I just use safari and open the bump through there, I don't know ofthat makes a difference. Then I just open a new screen in Safari and search for a gif, then switch back to my original screen that the bump is open in.

FWIW, I've never been able to GIF through the mobile app. I think you're going to have to use a browser to do it

I haven't tried to save a gif for future use. the closest to doing that would be bookmark the URL (not dl it to your phone). I'm not sure why you would need to get the file. You only need the gif URL. 

So when I find a gif on a website I like, I can click and hold on the gif and a menu appears. From that menu I can copy image URL (same thing as gif URL). Another route is to open the image in a separate tab. Then go to that tab (it's just the image/gif sitting there by itself) and copy the URL from the top of the page. hth.

That is because this is more than just the https://www.com URL. It already has some code with it. You might be able to paste exactly that into your textbox without typing the <img src blah blah part. I think it may be because the site you're getting it from is gif soup. Other sites you may not get the additional [url] code to make it work. Good luck.
