Baby Names

Which girls name?

My favourite three girls names at the moment are
Mietta
Arietta
Seraphina
I obviously love names that end in the "uh" sound.
I have a VERY strong feeling that I'm having a girl but haven't had it confirmed yet.
The one I am leaning towards most is seraphina even though its a celebrity baby name which kind of makes my think twice.
But, I can't get it out of my mind! DS is Zephyr and I really like zephyr and seraphina together. DH also loves Sarah but I couldn't possibly use that after Zephyr. I'm a huge fan of the look of ph in a name too for some reason!
What do you think? We have a one syllable last name that sounds like Pears.

Re: Which girls name?

  • I vote Seraphina!

I don't hear Zephyr often.  My cousin named her middle son Zephyr after his paternal great-grandpa, so he's the only one I've actually met.

  • Arietta or Seraphina would both sound great with brother Zephyr, they're both unique and refreshing. I'm not much of a fan of your other name choice personally. I also like Arrietty, which is similar to Arietta and has the added bonus of being a unique but mostly known name from literature. Other ideas that might match your name taste: Aurora, Serena, Persephone, Ariadne, Hermione, Athena, Freya, Elara, Iris, Ivy, Lyra.

  • Seraphina is the only one I've heard before. I know one girl with this name. I also like Arietta, not a fan of that first name though. And hey with Seraphina DH could have a nn Sarah for her and you both are happy.

  • For sure Seraphina. I wouldn't worry about it being a "celebrity name." It's a totally legitimate name that sounds beautiful and has a solid history. It's not like you're naming her Pilot Inspektor.

  • I think Seraphina (or Serafina) is your best bet of the 3. Your H can always call her Sera for short
  • Yay thanks everyone! I love seraphina too. And yes as allardr mentioned MH can call her sera if he really wants!
