This is the silliest question so I apologize in advance!
I am not officially on bedrest, but my cervix was down to 2.2 (while resting) and 1.9 (when bearing down) on Monday. I am now on progesterone but my doctor will not put me on bedrest until I hit 1.
So when I am at home, I am making sure to spend the marority of the time laying down and sitting with my feet up. My question is: Is sitting down in a straight back chair with my feet up as good as relieving pressure as laying down? While you are on bedrest, is there a certain position that you are supposed to be in or supposed to be avoiding.
Thanks!
Re: Bedrest positioning question
Try to avoid lying flat on your back as it puts pressure on your vena cava (along your spine). If you have to lie on your back, elevate one side slightly or put two pillows vertically and put your spine between them.
