Anyone needed hypospadias surgery for DS?

My DS is three months old with minor hypospadias.  We are having surgery when he's 8 months old and just wanted to see if there are any other parents out there that have already done the surgery.  We're not sure what to expect for recovery and long term effects.  The nurses have been helpful, but it's always nice to have a first hand experience.
