share with me your steak dinner recipes

I"m looking for a twist on steak for dinner tomorrow night

Re: share with me your steak dinner recipes

  • What kind of a twist are you looking for?  Like marinades, or like prime rib?

  • Get two really good strip steaks (or delmonico if you so wish- whatever cut you like the best)

get some butter (regular old school butter) (I use two sticks)

-Fresh Chives, Fresh Parsley, Fresh Basil

    Chop herbs

Grab your mortar & pestle, smash the butter in with the fresh chopped herbs, put back in the fridge untill ready to use

Grill steaks to your liking, lightly salt and pepper if you wish ( i dont put anything on and wait untill i eat it to put any seasoning on it)

Then take a big scoop of the butter mixture and right as soon as you take the steaks off the grill, put the butter on top of the steak.

Really easy, really good.  I love grilling marinated asparagus and portabello mushrooms with this too, they are a great side and a salad too- really delish.

  • Did you see Jessimurph's post earlier about macncheese with A1 steak sauce?  There's a "twist" for ya!  Blech!  I kid I kid!  Sorry, no tips from this vegetarian.

  • What cut of steak? I do them all differently!
  • Hmm, I run a steakhouse......go into the kitchen and order a steak from the chef....
  • My favorite is a filet cooked on the grill until medium topped with garlic herb butter. Tastes good with fingerling potatoes (or mashed) and asparagus. Yum.

  • We marinate the steaks in Worcestershire for the day.  Then take out before grilling and rub with lemon pepper salt.  Rub into meat so does not just fall off.

Then, we do rosemary potatoes:  redskin potatoes, quartered and then each cut in half (is there an easier way to say this?).  Lots of ground sea salt and dried rosemary (I just kind of crush it between fingers).  Bake for about 50 minutes at 350-400.  Brown at the end, if you like.  They are better after they cool off.  So, makes it easier if you are having guests.  Potatoes can be finished well before dinner.  Really good.
