oh yuck sorry about the formatting for the due dates!!!! i'll work on it this week and fix it for next time! 

i am 22 weeks today, just got back from my 2 week ultrasound at the MFM for my fluid check.  I feel like i didn't get much information today.  all i heard was "things look good, fluid looks the same" and they sent me on my way.  i have a consult with the dr. in 2 weeks after my next scan so will have to wait until then to ask all my questions.  blah.  i have a regular OB appointment scheduled for next Monday and my fetal echo scheduled for next Wed.  nervous about that one! 

QOTW:  I (thankfully!) am having a c section!  i have been terrified of giving birth vaginally my entire life and my first OB appt. my dr. said a c section may be possible because of the twins and i said yes! i choose that!  he laughed and said that was fine so i am thrilled.  plus with them being ID twins i am reading that there is a chance of twin to twin transfusion even during delivery (vaginal).  i'd rather be safe than sorry and i'm more comfortable with the c section.  one of the other OB's said at about 28 weeks they will schedule it.  yay!!!!!

21w6d!   I went in today for a cervix check and it was at 3.9 so I feel great about that.  Both babies look good too - I am so thankful.     I also have a fetal echo scheduled for next week - so hopefully that goes ok too.

QOTW:  I really want a vaginal birth but I know that may not be possible depending on how the twins are positioned.  But my Drs are very supportive of trying it - so we just need the babies to cooperate near the end of my pregnancy.    We are taking a 'twin' specific class at our hospital, an 8-hr childbirth class and also a twin breastfeeding class.   So I am looking forward to all of those

23w2d! Yikes, just a few more days until VDay! Monday I have an appt with Cardiologist, MFM, and OB so monday is a jam packed day for me! Lo is still squirming around in there, can't wait for the consistency. Dh and I have been Ehhh about finances, but we'll be fine. Feeling big, hips hurt but soooo happy to be pg. Starting the nursery soon.

As far as delivery, I would prefer a natural delivery but with the cord issues I think I may have to have a c section. Ob said we'll know closer to due date. I really don't want a c section because I am over weight and heavy in my stomach so I'm scared of a painful recovery.

20w2d today! Half baked + a little (hopefully).

We've got our anatomy scan on Friday, I'm not too nervous after our good Harmony results. Mister D's mother had an oddly shaped heart so hopefully bean is in the clear and everything looks really good.

Other than that, just wishing I'd have some movements to cheer me up (are you listening down there?!).

QOTW: No "plan" but some wishes and we'll see if they come true or not. I really trust my clinic and the OBs on staff there. We will be taking a few classes but not until November or so. We should probably sign up soon!

21w4d, banana and people still don't realize I'm pg unless they catch me rubbing my belly. Grr. Everything else is good otherwise. I've been good about going for walks and my knitting class starts up for Fall session tomorrow, so I'm excited to pick up the needles again and start a baby blanket to go with his booties, hat and mittens. No dr appts this week. QOTW: I have no idea what my birth plan is, other than doing whatever my OB says. I'm terrified of either kind of delivery and especially terrified of hospital interns or residents learning on me! (crazy Ex-FI was a physician who administered spinal taps during residency and also told me how he tore a laboring woman really badly during labor rotation of internship!) I want to start going to birth classes to feel more in control, but OB told me to wait a bit on those when I asked a couple months ago. When is the right time to go to all those classes and tours at the hospital?

I am going for a tour this weekend but mainly because they are having a baby event and we will be there to get free stuff lol.

Update: 18 weeks tomorrow, although I feel like time is at a standstill. Next appointment will be our anatomy scan. Hoping Hematomas will have resolved by that time. QOTW: My birth "hope" was to have a VBAC, mostly wanting to avoid another surgery & recovery esp when DH is back at work. My OB said the only way that might happen is if I go into labor on my own before 41 weeks & with a history of pre-e that may not happen. I didn't realize that they won't induce & only "allow" natural labor progression.

I guess this is my last check in here!  I'm 27 weeks and I had to visit L&D today for decreased fetal movement.  I've been stressed out about it because some days I feel them tons and some days not much at all.  Well, I had only felt a tiny kick once in two days so I decided to call the OB and he sent me in for monitoring.  Luckily, all is well!  They were moving a ton, but I just couldn't feel them.  So weird!

QOTW:  I would love to do it vaginally.  I've had a natural vaginal birth before on accident (baby came too fast) and it was so easy.  I know that I'm not the norm, but it was so quick that the pain wasn't even THAT awful.  (It was painful, don't get me wrong, but so short I don't think I had time to think).  Baby A has been head down, so if he stays that way then I will try vaginally (OB says I have to have an epidural this time...LOL...obviously!).  I am terrified of a c-section!  However, when it comes down to it, I really don't care as long as they wait until they are full term and are healthy.

I am 24 weeks. I have on OB app tomorrow and I have an ultrasound next Monday. I have been ok, just hard to sleep and I had a pretty bad sinus infection. I am on antibiotics for a week now. 

We took classes for my DD and I ended with a c section due to low fluid at 39 weeks. This time I am having a c section so no planning needed. I hope things go well. 

I wish everyone luck. I found the classes we took long and not too useful, but better than nothing.

UPDATE on my SCH: As of yesterday's u/s, it is still there, but has shrunk significantly enough that it could not be measured. Great sign.

I'm currently 18 weeks. I have no birth plan, no classes, I guess I'm either being lazy about it or there are too many options. Everytime I discuss anything with anyone somehow the fact that I'm having twins is such an anomaly that I don't know what to do about anything. However, seeing as how for many thousands of years the human race has prevailed without lamaze, doulas and water births, I think I'll be fine.

Hi everyone, 

I'm 24 weeks today woohoo! We had our fetal echo last week and were so relieved to see everything looks good. Nothing else to report- hip pain from bursitis is intermittent but generally has been ok. LO is moving around all the time which is so cool! Also the first person asked me if I was pregnant today- finally! I think it's so obvious and I see a lot of people looking at my belly but I guess not sure enough to ask! 

QOTW: no formal birth plan but I would like to have a vaginal birth because I am terrified of the whole concept of being awake in th OR. But pretty scared about the labor and birth in general. I haven't taken a class yet but plan to take one in the early 3rd trimester.

Over 17 weeks here and not much to report. I had my first non ultrasound OB appointment. It seemed like such a waste of time! They found the heartbeat for like 5 seconds and then I left. I won't have anatomy scan until nov 1

At 23 weeks and doing well. Have a repeat u/s this week to check on potential pp and hopefully baby girl cooperates so they can check everything they couldn't see last time.

 

QOTW: Hoping for another natural delivery with no drugs, but will depend on if the pp resolves itself or not. No classes either, but will be taking DD to a sibling class.

20 weeks 2 days over here! Feeling good physically, managing some anxiety and nerves about getting closer to my loss milestone with our twins. Hoping after 24 weeks I can let myself enjoy this ride a bit more. Have a cervix check this Thursday and then a full ultrasound on 10/15. I am feeling this little guy more frequently especially when I am sitting still. Qotw: I don't have a plan, open to whatever is safest. I hope if it is a c section that it's planned, not so much interested in an emergency c, only because it sounds scary to me. If all is looking good (head down, decent size baby) I am game for au natural, with pain meds of course

Hi everyone! I am 22 weeks now. I saw the OB last week and I got to see the girls on ultrasound and they were both stretching their legs! This past weekend I felt the first legitimate kick, and since then it has been happening a few times a day. It is so exciting when it happens, I just have to stop what I am doing and marvel at the awesomeness! I have made a lot of progress on their quilts which feels great.

QOTW: I don't have an official birth plan, but I do have an idea of what I would like. Unfortunately I am not being given many optins. I would prefer to have a vaginal birth because I know th recovery will be easier, but besides that my doctors are basically dictating how everything will have to go. I'm not sure if its because I'm high risk, or if its the twins factor, if its because I am delivering at a military hospital, or a combination. Unless something dictates the need for a c section ahead of time, the plan is to attempt a vaginal delivery in the OR. I will be required to have an epidural in place in the event that a c section becomes necessary, because then they can administer the drugs quickly. So...I really don't have a lot of options. I know I would like my husband by my side, but since the Army owns him we just don't know if that is going to happen yet. I would like to try and breastfeed them as soon as possible, but knowing there is a high likelyhood they will go straight to NICU because of IUGR that might not be possible either. We will just have to wait and see!

I will be 17 weeks on Friday. Nothing new to report, just waiting for the anatomy scan on 10/11. I purchased the crib and changing table today because Baby's R Us had a coupon with 20% off nursery furniture.

QOTD: I will be signing up for birthing classes after my anatomy scan. My plan is to try for a natural birth but.... if things get to intense I will ask for an epidural. I have been also reading Natural child birth the Bradley way it's a great book on explaining how your body works during childbirth.

I'm 19 weeks, and I have my a/s in just a couple hours! So excited to see the munchkin and hopeful that he is doing well and that my SCH has resolved.

I'm also finally starting to show - I definitely popped this week and am rocking some old navy maternity jeans for the first time today - comfy!!

QOTW: I plan on taking classes, but I don't plan on having a super-detailed birth plan. I have an idea of what my ideal situation is, but I don't want to go into too much detail and set myself up for disappointment, if that makes sense. Plus, I have a great doctor who is on the same page as me and who I completely trust, so will go with pretty much whatever he recommends.

How far along are you? 16 weeks  Any appointment updates?  A/S is on 10/22/2013, this is the longest we've gone without seeing Turtle and I'm trying to not let PAIF brain grab ahold of me!

QOTW: Do you have a birth plan yet? My "ideal" birth plan would be to labor at home as long as humanly possible before going to the hospital (we only live a few minutes away). An all-natural vaginal birth is my goal, but since I've never done this before I'm willing to change my mind when things really get started.  

Taking any classes to prepare?  I think we'll take a Baby basics class at our hospital which includes, newborn care-DH hasn't ever been around babies- infant CPR, and some nursing information. I'm also planning on taking a hypnobirthing class.

QOTW:  Do you have a birth plan yet?  Taking any classes to prepare? If all goes well, I can deliver vaginally.  The neurosurgeon seems to think I will be fine to push.  FX for a smooth vaginal delivery.  Planning to go to some classes probably the beginning of the 3rd tri.

I'm 17w3 days today. My anatomy scan is on the 14th and I can't wait to see the baby again! I'm also really excited to find out the gender. I very much want a natural birth. I'm actually more scared of the epidural than of feeling all the pain. I'll be open to whatever's necessary, but I'm hoping to be allowed / be able to try everything before having an epidural or a c section.

Any appointment updates?  Have an ultrasound tomorrow to check on the babies and the cervix. I had a bleeding episode about 3 weeks ago and they discovered a polyp inside my cervix which they are worried may cause early dilation. Was taken off work and placed on modified bedrest.
QOTW:  Do you have a birth plan yet?  Taking any classes to prepare?  I will be having a c-section this time around. I've been told it is just too risky to try a vaginal delivery with 3 babies, so I'm ok with that. Terrified of being awake during surgery though! I would love to delay cord clamping and breastfeed ASAP but that all depends on how things play out!! Not bothering with any classes this time although I may go to a la leche league meeting to see if I can connect with other MoM's who breastfeed.

@bridejackie  What is the monthly visual field test?  I haven't had any eye exams during pregnancy.  Am I supposed to?

I'm 25w5d and am doing ok for the most part. I have been having a hard time sleeping. I wake up not only to pee a hundred times but my hips are starting to bother me, so I find that just right position in order to get to sleep this is going to be a long last 3 months with no sleep. Saw the MFM last week and LO is looking great at 2 lbs. a couple of weeks ahead but doc said that should even out later. Like he may not gain as much in the next 6 weeks till my next appt. 

I have started thinking of a birth plan but nothing on paper yet. I did however meet with our first ped this week and she is awesome, one more meeting next month and we will have a ped. DH and I are touring one of the hospitals in our area on Sunday so we can finally decide which we will going to. Once that is decided I plan in signing up for a Baby Care basics class and a breastfeeding class. 

Looking forward to hitting 27 weeks next Saturday.
