My 5 and a half month old always claws my face.

My daughter and me co-sleep half of the night. well at about 4:00am my daughter wakes up and grips hold of my face lips eyes ect. not exactly the wake up call i want that early. she does the same thing again at 8:00am when we wake up for the day. she will even try to claw at my face when i try rocking her to sleep at night for bedtime. I have tryed taking her hand away and tell her no but she just laughs and does it again. ive tryed letting her claw away in hopes she will get bored or that if i dont show reaction she will be uninterested in doing it anymore. i can no longer deal with it she has clawed my face for about 2 months straight now. would like any tips in how to get her to quit. please and thanks.

haha my DS does this but I love it! I think it's adorable. It's just their reaction to something they like - like a toy - grab, put in mouth. He does it when he sees me in the morning or when tired. My advice? keep her nails trimmed.

Maybe try gloves or sleep bags? That's tough. I bet she is enjoying the effect it has. I've noticed my LO just started doing something similar now, though it is during the daytime. Keeping nails trimmed makes it a little more bearable for sure.

My ds does this all the time, he was actually doing it at 4 this morning. My dh was just watching him!

My lo is a little over 5 months and she does this too. I think its cute, she's trying to feel my face. Just keep nails trimmed!!!!

sorry mama-until she gets bored with "this game" or you stop c o sleeping i think you can continue to expect this. it's probably reassuring for her to see you there

thanks ladies ive just started ignoring her doing it all together i think were almost past the clawing stage. i do try and keep her nails trimmed so she doesnt claw her own face to shredds lol.

my DD has moved onto hair pulling-her own and mine. Geesh.
